what is the difference between i) high source of income by way of dividends and ii)rapid capital appreciation both from holding of good quality scrips based on my understanding both of them mean the same thing,.. the second point is not clear enough.
There is difference between these two concepts. Income by way of dividend refers to a reward, cash or otherwise, that a company gives to its shareholders. Whereas Capital appreciation means rise in an investment's market price. Capital appreciation is the difference between the purchase price and the selling price of an investment.
